A 1/2” overlay means that drawer fronts and cabinet doors will extend half an inch past the frame. This
is the most economical construction type and is also the most common. It leaves more room in between
doors and drawers of cabinets than a 1” overlay, which allows for the option of a natural finger pull in
addition to handles.
