Bumper pads are usually dots or rectangles made of plastic, rubber, or felt and are adhered to the insides of cabinet doors. A bumper bad protects the wood by absorbing the shock when a cabinet door is closed shut, which also dampens the sound. Bumper pads typically come with an adhesive but can also be installed permanently.
